Party Poker Doesn't Cheat
Now that playing online poker is surging in popularity there is a legitimate concern with regards to cheating. However, there is one thing a player should not worry about. The site itself, Party Poker, is not cheating its players. The poker room has no financial interest in cheating. Poker rooms, like Party Poker, make money off a percentage of each hand that is played. These revenues add up to millions and millions of dollars. Online poker rooms do not care who wins the pots, but only that a pot is being played for someone to win.
The poker business is so lucrative an online poker room, like Party Poker, would have to be crazy to risk its reputation with any kind of cheating.
Cheaters Never Win
In online poker there are a couple of ways a player can cheat. Two players can work in cahoots by playing at the same table and then either through the phone, or instant messages, communicate to each other their hands. This would obviously give a player an unfair advantage over another player and is definitely a form of cheating; however, it is a small advantage. Party Poker also has security measures to look out for such cheaters. If two users are playing together in the same games often, a red-flag automatically alerts the people at Party Poker who will not allow such activity to occur. If caught cheating, a user will be kicked off a poker site and blacklisted forever.
Another way to cheat would be if to cheat on your own. If a player had two separate means to get on the Internet, with two different user names and identities, they could conceivably play in the same game, giving themselves an unfair advantage over other players at the table. Again, online casinos, like Party Poker are well aware of people who do such things and there are many security measures in place to ensure these cheaters will be busted and kicked off the site.
Online poker rooms, like Party Poker, work hard to keep cheaters off the net. It's a waste of energy to worry about cheating at Party Poker, odds are you're safe. However, if you see something suspicious report it to customer service as soon as possible. Good luck playing at Party Poker and don't fret over cheaters, they'll get what's coming to them.
